Funeral Poems: Together Again

(I wrote this on behalf of my mum to my dad)

My life ended the day you died,
I just wanted you to know.
Unheard grief echoes in my soul,
How can I move on, when I cannot let go.

A new life began for me,
Without your laughter and your smile.
Precious memories, I build my new life with,
Precious memories, that’s how I survive.

The time will come when we will be together,
You are not forgotten, you are in my heart.
But until then my grief lives on,
Until we are together again, never to part.
